Volunteering

This past weekend Yeller and I decided to volunteer for the Esprit de She, an all female triathlon benefiting ovarian cancer research. They had sprint (750m swim, 20K bike, 5K run) and super sprint (half that) distances as well as a duathlon (2K run, 20K bike, 5K run). We knew a bunch of people participating, but we had a wedding the night before, so getting up at 4:30 am to compete wasn’t in the cards for Yeller.

Instead we woke up at 4:30 am to volunteer.

Triathacrack

Yup, I’m hooked. My gf, whom I shall refer to as Yeller, and I did our first triathlon event a few weeks back, and since then we’ve done another and signed up for 2 more. Who woulda thunk almost drowning, almost crashing, and almost collapsing would be addictive? Well… aside from all the people we know who told us we’d be hooked. Oh well, it’s a damn good time, and a nice way to stay in shape.

Maybe later I’ll toss up stories about how the races went, but not right now. 🙂
